Trench coats are one of those things that magazines always say you should own as a staple piece, but if you own one, it’s not intuitive how to style it so it looks feminine. Here’s an easy, lady-like and comfortable way to wear the trench.
What You’ll Need
1. Trench coat.
Unbuttoned, with sleeves cuffed and pulled up to mid-forearm (much easier than pushing up if you pull from mid-sleeve). Have only a sliver of the blue shirt sleeve visible under the trench cuff.
2. Dark skinny jeans.
With 1″ wide cuffs rolled up so you see your ankles.
3. Blue oxford shirt.
Untucked and with the top buttons unbuttoned.
4. Large pendant.
On a short chain so you see it peeking through the opening of the oxford shirt.
5. Large brown leather tote.
Hanging from the shirt neck opening if unworn.
7. Navy or other dark closed-toe pumps.
Finish off the look with The Rule of 10, and go brave April showers that bring May flowers.
